I was at the gym and remembered the first photo I posted on social media. It is captioned with "Weights are real" and "What weighs down African youth is the need for more discovery opportunities."
I am sure you tire of hearing this, but discovery opportunities are a pressing concern. To my core, I believe that most talent needs to be "discovered." Most kids do not see it in themselves—what they are "good" at. I scout many players, thinking, "If he only knew he was good."
It is transformative when someone lets you know you are talented—it can "change" you. So Fisher Talent Group being on a sideline in overlooked, marginalized communities spurs this initiative—especially in rural Africa. Nothing more than this idea needs saying. I hope you know it and, most importantly—agree.
As always, thank you for taking an interest in our work. I cannot stress it enough, but we appreciate all donations and social media support. We are not a "sugar high" but genuinely changing things by lessening the "weights" for marginalized African youth. We cannot change the world independently, but we will together.
